Adolfo Navarro (Arandas, Jalisco, 1992), is a Mexican Product Designer focused on everyday products and nomad objects (from furniture to bags, luggage and accessories), graduated of Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico.
Born in Arandas, Jalisco, he started his creative practice in 2014 collaborating with some local projects and design offices like Peca Studio. After that he founded Lo Esencial, a brand of everyday objects focused on explore the simplicity, practicality and functionality of each design. Currently he’s the creative director of the brand.
Named in 2020 “One of the 7 Latin American designers to Watch” according the GQ Magazine, Adolfo's work is notorious for always explore extra possibilities, exalting the usefulness and functionality of normal objects and making processes feasible at the same time, achieving new ways of interaction and simplification through an own method, Configurative Design.
Among the recognitions he has obtained, some highlights are a couple of honorable mentions in the Premio Nacional de Diseño (2016), the first place in the National Furniture Design Contest (DIMUEBLE, 2015), as well as Honor Mention in the National Design Biennial (2017), and some others.
He has also been speaker at several institutions such as ISAD Desierto, Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas, Jalisco Goverment, Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, CEDIM and Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM). In the private sector he has collaborated and designed for local and international clients such as PECA, Emerge México, MINI, IK Joyeros, Fluxus Studio, Auditorio Nacional, Casa Bobadilla, Notwaste, Colibrí 3D, Bunkhouse, Fluxus Estudio, Fromm, Outback (India), Euphonia, LaValise Hotels, Ensamble Artesano, among others.
Adolfo currently works as Creative Director of the brands Lo Esencial and CAPTURA, as a photographer and art director at Isótopo, and attending independent projects and product design consultancies for some other clients. Academically, he maintains an active profile in lectures and workshops at universities such ITESM, CEDIM, and as an independent professor at Domestika .
