Parafina is a collection of multipurpose containers designed in collaboration with Master Craftsman Oscar Pedroza.

Why this objects?

The general project purpose was achieve a set of containers that are always in process, always in change, adapting them to different uses and contexts.

The containers are designed in a single circular leather piece, taking as inspiration an old design that was used to transport medicines and raw materials in bulk, and one of the first pieces that Oscar, the master craftsman who craft Parafina, made years ago with the purpose of transporting and storing small quantities of paraffin (candle wax). Basic forms working to store basic objects.

This revision makes a utilitarian reinterpretation of the object itself, achieving a set of 3 different-sized containers that can be used as baskets, bags or organizers, expanding the functionality of each one. Every piece in the collection has a masterfully hand-embroidered symbol in Pita, it being a significant detail that refers to the combination of proportions, contexts and utilities.

Objects that are always in process, in change, reinterpreting itself, just like materials themselves.
